MindBlowing AI Tools Everyone talking about

– Facebook AI Research (FAIR) has announced three significant advancements in the field of socially intelligent robots. They have introduced Habitat 3.0, which is a simulator that allows researchers to test algorithms in virtual environments. Additionally, they have released the Habitat Synthetic Scenes Dataset (HSSD-200), a realistic 3D dataset that can be used to train robots in simulated environments. Finally, they have unveiled HomeRobot, a shared platform that enables the definition of tasks and supports navigation and manipulation in various environments. These advancements have the potential to revolutionize the way robots interact with humans and assist in everyday tasks.

– Forbes has recently launched a generative AI search platform called Adelaide. This platform allows readers to ask specific questions or input general topics and receive personalized search results within the scope of Forbes’ coverage. The platform is trained on Forbes stories from the past year, providing users with recommended articles and summarized answers tailored to their interests.

– Shutterstock has introduced AI-powered tools that allow users to edit its library of images. The tools include Magic Brush, which enables users to make adjustments by brushing over an area and describing what they want to add, replace, or erase. Additionally, the AI editor, still in beta, allows users to generate alternate versions of an image and expand the background. Shutterstock is also introducing a smart resizing feature and an AI-powered background removal tool, providing users with more flexibility and control over their image editing process.

What The World Has Researched & Innovated

– Researchers from the University of Washington and NVIDIA have proposed humanoid agents that guide generative agents in behaving more like humans. These agents incorporate elements such as basic needs, emotions, and social relationships to mimic human behavior. They have designed a game environment to visualize and interact with these agents, facilitating a deeper understanding of human-like behavior in AI systems.

– IBM Research, Princeton University, and Virginia Tech have conducted a study on the security risks associated with fine-tuning large language models (LLMs). Their research highlights that even a small number of harmful entries in seemingly benign datasets can compromise the security of prominent LLMs like Meta Llama-2 and OpenAI GPT-3.5 Turbo. This study emphasizes the need to balance customization and security when working with LLMs.

– Researchers from Google DeepMind, MIT, and UC Berkeley have proposed Video Language Planning (VLP), an integration of text-to-video and vision-language models. VLP allows for visual planning of long-horizon, complex activities by generating step-by-step video plans bridging the gap between written descriptions and visual comprehension. Real robots can implement these plans, leading to significant improvements in long-horizon task success rates.

– A few-shot-based tuning framework called LAMP has been introduced for text-to-video generation. LAMP utilizes a first-frame-conditioned pipeline and temporal-spatial motion learning layers to enhance video quality and stability. This framework has potential applications in video editing tasks and image animation, making it a valuable tool for content creators and multimedia professionals.
